That’s not only very profound but very true.

I thought that I would also add that it’s true when reading & replying. People will read until they see something that they want to reply to & then skim the rest so they can reply faster (or even skip the rest).

Really “listening” takes patience and a will to WANT to try to understand another. Not normal behavior in casual conversations or anger or…………….ha ha ha ha ha……………humanity.

      True. lol

True. And most people speak with the intent for a reply. Although no one can be be absolutely certain what ones intentions are until revealed.

A lot of people are just waiting (and some of them interrupt instead of waiting) for you to stop talking so they can talk about themselves, and they won’t even be listening to a word you say.

    August 20, 2015
    1. fierylady

      Exactly.

    2. wirelessguru1

      What did you say?

      August 20, 2015
      1. Bettymom

I said – for those of you who have trouble stringing words together to create a sentence – that some people aren’t listening to you or waiting to reply to what you’re saying. They just want you to stop talking so they can talk about themselves. What they say won’t have anything at all to do with what you were saying (unless you were saying how wonderful they are). Got it, or do I need to go for three tries??

          Got it now…

Sorry – shouldn’t have been so nasty. You just happened to hit me in a really foul mood. Even sweet little old ladies are mean sometimes.

“Most people”, flaws in listening notwithstanding, still hope for connection, communication and love.
